Targa Newfoundland here I come!

2010 Kia Forte Targa Koup

It is finally official!

This Keenan and that Kia are headed to the Rock along with my fellow Autonet.ca journalist and CTCC driver Jacques Deshaies. And, beginning next week, you can follow us on Twitter, Facebook and, of course, Autonet.ca.

I’ll post again when I have some links for you to follow our progress day [...]

New Sube offers more confidence

The second generation Impreza is still popular amongst enthusiasts – who laud the robust Subaru boxer engine, full-time symmetrical all-wheel drive and excellent year-round performance.

In 2008, the third generation Impreza launched with an emphasis on pleasing the North American mass market, watered down with a smaller engine and CVT. Were it not for [...]

Off-road talk is Jeep

“Whereas most ordinary vehicles would be able to reach the trail head only to have to turn back, with a few button presses the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is ready to boldly go wherever it’s pointed.”

Today, that’s climbing a very steep loose dirt trail 1.3 klicks long and strewn with massive North Oregon [...]

2012 Jeep Rubicon conquers Tillamook nook

My review of the 2012 Jeep Wrangler should be posted on Autonet.ca sometime soon. For now, check out my video of the Unlimited Rubicon tackling an extreme off-road course in North Oregon’s Tillamook State Forest.

A gymkhana redux: session 1 to today

Yesterday, DC Shoes posted Ken Block’s Gymkhana 4: The Hollywood Megamercial on its YouTube channel. Roughly 24 hours later, it has more than 1,500,000 views. Check out this huge old snapping turtle I came across today while out testing the latest Nissan 370Z. He took one look at me and said, “Let’s go, Nismo!”

Stay tuned for an upcoming feature on the 2011 Nissan 370Z Nismo and a full photo gallery. (P.S. I pushed the turtle off the road with [...]

All-wheel drive runs a couple grand more and adds 68 kilograms, but if you want the twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 with direct injection for more performance and better fuel economy, you’ll need at least $53K. Sunshine, lollipops and ragtops

If you’ve never driven a sporty convertible on a sunny day, put it on your bucket list. Simply opening the top to see a cloudless blue sky can be a sublime experience; but, it’s the feeling of wind tossing your hair and zipping past your eardrums, the sound of the engine as you kick [...]

Happy Birthday to me

I’ve driven some pretty cool rides on my my birthday in year’s past. This includes a MTM Bentley Continental GT (the world’s fastest Conti GT at the time, on a German autobahn no less) and a pair of Aston Martins (a V12 Vanquish S and the first year of the V8 Vantage). A few [...]
