Moving into a new house means there’s no shortage of things to do. Of course, having the right tool means you can get jobs done better and quicker. That said, this 2010 Dodge Ram 2500 HD is just what I need for some heavy lifting. Specifically, it’s been enlisted to transport a heavy load [...]

Nearly two dozen Chevrolet Volts (U.S. production models) are charged up and ready to go. My co-driver picks a black one, it looks the nicest because the black rear fascia blends in with the rest of the vehicle. I’m in town for the 2011 North American International Auto Show and GM Canada has arranged [...]

Classic Minis fascinate me to this day, but, today, I’m driving the newest Mini Cooper. I’m not sure why it’s called the Countryman, or why Mini considers it a crossover SUV (because it is quite far removed from a SUV in the traditional sense), but it does have five doors (a first for Mini), [...]

My test 2011 Hyundai Equus didn’t show up at my doorstep via the free 24/7 valet service. It wasn’t whisked away on a flatbed for free maintenance service (thank goodness). I didn’t even get the free iPad Hyundai gives its new Equus owners either (pre-loaded with the car’s owner’s manual). Continue reading my review [...]
By journauto, on March 11, 2011, at 5:24 pm 2011 Mini Cooper Countryman road test coming soon. For now, some photos from my semi-retired Canon Digital Rebel. Check out the gallery here.
As an added bonus (who doesn’t like a bonus?) I dug up some pics I took of a 2008 Clubman a while back. Mini fans enjoy!

Though it’s three in the afternoon, the sun appears for the first time, helping to warm the dark suede leather interior without the aid of climate control. The roar from the naturally-aspirated 3.8-litre flat-six playing behind me, I can’t help but wonder why anybody would even want a radio in a Porsche 911 GT3. [...]

I was in Birmingham, Alabama last week to attend the Porsche Sport Driving School – USA at George Barber’s Barber Motorsport Park (no relation to Skip Barber). My schooling starts with a lead follow lapping session in a Carrera S 6MT with myself trying to stay with Hurley Haywood, a six-time 24 Hours of Daytona [...]
By journauto, on January 19, 2011, at 8:17 pm One of the highlights of this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan has to be the Porsche 918 RSR Hybrid. And, while a 6:30 AM press breakfast and official launch party was a bit too early for me, I snapped off a few shots of what Porsche is calling a “Racing [...]

This is me testing the 2013 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 GT on the skidpad at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Driver Development Track (Mosport DDT). The purpose of this exercise is to demonstrate car control. As you can see, the all-new 2013 Genesis is quite happy to get sideways and into a drift. With 348 hp and 295 lb-ft on tap, the V6 is powerful and torquey enough to take the long way around the pad too. Stay tuned for an update on this and a forthcoming track shakedown of the 2013 Gen Coupe.
Vital specs:
3.8-litre GDI V6 with 348 hp and 295 lb-ft
6-speed manual
1,616 kg curb weight
Torsen LSD
Bridgestone RE050A UHP summer tires (P225/40R19 front and P245/40R19 rear)
Brembo 13.4/13.0" (340/330 mm) vented discs, four-piston calipers (f/r)
Footage shot in HD with my Drift HD cam. Enjoy!
